Learn how to match the tempo of an audio sample loop in Logic Pro or Logic Express to the exact tempo of a song in this lesson here at Logic Cafe. This lesson enables you to quickly add percussion or instrument loops to fit into an arrangement.
Logic Cafe brings to you another lesson for Logic Pro and Logic Express users which equips sample based musicians and remix artists with a powerful tool for achieving quick results.
Recommended Applications for this lesson include:
- Add percussion and instrument loops from sample CDs to your arrangements
- Adjust vocal tracks and other audio provided for a remix
Ensure you know the exact length of your sample loop / audio in beats and bars.
Step 1In the arrange window, click and drag in the bar ruler in order to highlight the desired amount in beats and bars. The sample loop used in this example is 1 bar in length so the green stripe in the bar ruler is also 1 bar in length.
Note: The "length" mentioned in this step refers to the musical length of the loop and not the physical length of the object in the arrange window.
Step 2In the Arrange page, click on the audio loop you wish to adjust in order to select it.
Step 3In the pull-down menu at the top of the arrange page click on Audio>Adjust Region Length to Locators
Step 4In the resulting dialogue box click on Process.
Step 5Your audio sample loop should now match the green stripe in the Bar Ruler and play in time with your song.
