LOAD EXS24 INSTRUMENTS INTO ULTRABEAT

Learn how to load EXS24 instruments and drum kits such as the ones available here at Logic Cafe into the powerful Ultrabeat drum synthesizer

This tutorial demonstrates a quick and effective way to get all of your favourite EXS24 drum kits and sample banks into the powerful drum synth Ultrabeat.

The EXS instrument used in this tutorial is the Casio MT-18 Keyboard available here at Logic Cafe. You can download it here:

http://logic-cafe.com/Article_View.asp?ID=113&CategoryID=7

Note: Ultrabeat will only map EXS24 samples that are allocated within the range of C1 - C3. Any other samples will be ignored.

Step 1

In the channel section of the software instrument inspector in the arrange page, click on the I/O menu and select Ultrabeat (drum synth). You can also select whether you want the synth to be stereo or multiple output at this stage.

Step 2

In the finder on your mac, navigate to the EXS instrument file that you would like to add to the Ultrabeat drum synth. These are usually kept in Application Support>Logic>Sampler Instruments>Instrument Name

Step 3

Drag the icon of your desired EXS24 Instrument onto the mixer section of the Ultrabeat drum synth. You will see the appropriate zones highlight as you do this.

Step 4

You will now see a list of your EXS24 samples loaded into the Ultrabeat mixer section and the EXS 24 instrument will now be available to play in the Ultrabeat drum synth.

Enjoy!
