Learn how to install custom icons that you have downloaded from here at logic-cafe.com or created yourself to customise your arrange page in Logic Pro.
Using custom icons in Logic Pro can enhance your use of the DAW and speed up your workflow, making tracks easier to identify when navigating to to them for editing purposes. It can also add that personalised touch to the program, integrating it fully into your home or professional studio.
This is all well and good, however actually installing the icons, although simple when you know how, requires some un-obvious navigation into hidden folders on your Mac computer.
Before installing custom icons make sure you have considered the following, especially if you have created your own:
- The custom icons are no bigger that 128x128 pixels
- The custom icons are in the PNG (Portable Network graphics) format
- The custom icons are named as a number (from 326, as the Logic Icons use numbers up to 325) and not as the actual image they represent, eg Maschine.
Step 1In the finder on your Mac:
(i) Go to Applications>Logic Pro.
(ii) Control (ctrl) click on the Logic Pro icon and select Show Package Contents from the resulting menu.
Step 2Open the Contents folder that appears.
Step 3Access the icons folder by via Resources>Images>icons.
Step 4Drag the icon you wish to add to your icon set in Logic Pro into the icons folder.
Your icons will now appear in the icon menu next time you open Logic Pro.
