The AC-7 Pro for iPad builds on Saitara's excellent iPhone MIDI and DAW controller range, taking full advantage of the extra real estate on the iPad 9.7" multi-touch display. Already available in the U.S. at a price of just $9.99 on the iTunes app store, the AC-7 appears to be as full featured a DAW controller as any on the market, with native controller presets for Logic Pro, Digital Performer, limited Pro-Tools control and a Standard Mackie Control setting.
Features:
- FADERS: Fully multitouch flying faders with 14 bit sub-pixel precision. There are markings indicating 0dB volume and centre pan.
- METERS: Show channel volume levels
- FLIP BUTTON: Changes fader function between volume and pan
- BANK LEFT/RIGHT: Used to enable control of more channels, limited only by DAW capabilities
- ASSIGN SECTION: Generally this where the editing mode is chosen, depending on current DAW mode
- MULTI FUNCTION BUTTONS: These change to suit individual DAW modes, but this is the Logic set. The buttons on the bottom row select different groups of 8 buttons. In this case MAIN contains commonly used buttons, V-POT emulates pushing the numbered encoder button, SCRN switches to a numbered screenset, GVIEW limits the type of channels available.
- AUTOMATION SECTION The modifier buttons (SHIFT,ALT etc.) are latched so touch them once to engage, and once more to disengage.
- JOG WHEEL The jog wheel moves the playhead when rotated and scrub can usually be used too (depending on DAW software used). Can also be switched to a cursor.
